Debnath, an Indian activist, started a bicycle journey for HIV/AIDS awareness on 27 th May, 2004. From 2004-2006, he ran an all India-campaign and visited nearly 1000 institutions and social organizations in India. He then decided this journey should not be limited to India but should become a world tour. So he included Indian culture in his mission to promote it around the world. He has travelled to 191 countries in 7 continents.
Indian culture is one of the world’s oldest and most diverse, defined by a “unity in diversity” with deeply rooted spirituality, varied languages, religions, and traditions spanning thousands of years from the Indus Valley Civilization to the modern day. It is characterized by collectivism, respect for elders, vibrant festivals, and unique art forms, influencing the world through cuisine, yoga, and literature.
He was born in West Bengal, the land of Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chattapadhya, Charat Chandra Chattapadhya, Kaji Nazrul Islam, Bibhuti Bhushan Bandapadhya, Jamini Ray, Ramkinkar Baij, Nanda Lal Basu, Abanindranath Tagore. They are the Prana Purusha – the soul of a rich culture. As the saying goes “What Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow.” He traveled across India and later learned about different cultures from countries around the world.
